I don't think that we should necessarily open up porn shops to a wider variety of people. Plus Spencer's don't really have rape related material in their store. They do have sex items but it's stuff like chocolate tattoos that you can put on each other and then eat off or something like that. I would say most of the stuff in spencer's is comparable to the things people might try when they are trying to bring the spark back into their sex lives, none of it seems violent nor does it really objectify women. For every crazy, sexy women's thong or outfit they have in the store, they also have something similar for men. I think that if you brought porn shops down to the level of spencer's and then opened them up to a wider variety of individuals then people would start to talk about sex more. Once sex is common people won't need to hear about it on the news or need to see it on television shows. As much as I think there should be classes in highschool about diversity, I also think there should be some equivalent class about sex or relationships. In highschool I had one rediculous health class for one period of 9 weeks. The little bit we did talk about sex all I heard was that it's dangerous and you get diseases, but if people taught adolecents to be cautious but also to respect each other and each other's body's then I think making sex even more shocking and interesting by creating violent porn would cease to occur. I wonder out of how many people go to porno shops are people that buy violent porn. If you make shops more open to other people I bet whatever number it is that it would decline and eventually have to be removed from the shelves because of simple supply and demand. If more people went to porno shops my guess is it that since it would probably be their first time or so that they wouldn't by violent porn. The more that happens the less likely it is for stores to get new violent porn in since no one is buying it except a select few. Once the select few realize a store isn't getting any new violent porn in then they would probably go off in search of something else and stop buying the same stuff. Then, since it would be making litte or no profit, it would have to be taken out of the stores... at least I think that's how it works. I'm not an economics expert and my predictions could be completely wrong. I guess I've written enough for today.
