I was friends with my roommate my freshman year and those who lived around us. I really think it was proximity that brought us together more than anything. We all had different majors, and the others seemed to get closer with each other then with me. I still consider us friends, but we don't talk and hang out as much as we used to. The next year it was similar. I got really close to my two roommates, even though we had some differences. I switched again this year, but the same thing did not happen and I am still close with one of my roommates from last year. Proximity played a huge roll in my friendships here, I just wish I had more, and more lasting friendships.
